What better time for a trip to Blackpool than to see the legendary Blackpool lights switch on?

Blackpool Illuminations are on untill November 9th this year (2014). All times listed here.

The 2014 Blackpool Illuminations will be switched on by Peter Kay, Britain’s best-loved comedian and a lifelong fan of Blackpool since childhood visits to the Lancashire seaside resort.

The Tower Festival Headland is the venue for the switch on with concerts on Friday night, Saturday night and Sunday night. The Friday night switch on concert has chart topping Little Mix headlining joined by Texas who are celebrating 25 years since their debut album in 1989. Chart stars Pixie Lott, Union J, Neon Jungle, George Ezra and Matt Cardle join a star-studded line up on Friday 29 August on Tower Festival Headland for the 2014 Blackpool Illuminations switch on.

The Friday night Switch-On concert, staged in association with Rock FM, marks the start of a three-day festival of entertainment at Tower Festival Headland; the West End themed Saturday night will be headlined by Thriller Live and the Sunday night concert will be headlined by Rebecca Ferguson.

To ensure this year’s event is the most spectacular yet, there are a host of new and revamped light displays including Theatre D’Amour, Venus Reborn, Talbot Square and Brilliance, which are all designed to dazzle and delight visitors.

The Lights shine every year for 66 nights, 73 this year, and continue to attract huge crowds. 2014 will see The Lights lit until Sunday November 9th so get your break booked now and prepare to be dazzled. A preview night of the illuminations is on Tuesday 26th August when the Promenade is closed to traffic for cycles to Ride The Lights and get a full preview of the coming 2014 Blackpool Illuminations displays.

Blackpool lights switch on times vary over the nine weeks due to the nights drawing in and the clocks going back one hour at the end of October.
